Responsible Travel
We’re in this world together
All it takes is one trip to Kenya to see schools being built in the Masai Mara that will send the first women of this region to college, and you’ll immediately understand why we always say that “you go to Africa to visit the wildlife, but always return for the people.”
We strive for sustainable travel that reduces carbon footprint, yet also hope to get you away from the masses that overrun cities like Venice and Barcelona lately. We understand that you have specific dates you need to work with each year to travel, but consider destinations that might not make Instagram’s Top 10 list. Perhaps visit the charming hill towns of Umbria instead of neighboring Tuscany, Paros instead of overcrowded Santorini, Istria instead of nearby Venice.
Remember that ActiveTravels doesn’t just mean active bodies, but active minds and active hearts. That’s why every year we donate a percentage of our membership profits during the winter holidays to charities like Hawai’i People’s Fund, Heifer International, World Central Kitchen, and the Red Cross.
